Corn on the Cob

This is what happens when Felicity decides she's done eating.....

New pictures

It's no secret that the Isaiah and I are slackers when it comes to taking our kids to get their pictures taken.  I guess it's more so that every time we've gone something seems to go wrong and we end up with unhappy kids and pictures with lots of tears and red faces.  Not exactly what I want to have framed in my house.

Since the pictures in our house are about a year and a half old now....it's time to change them up.  Here are some contenders...we figure we'll save the hassle of going to the picture studio and just use pictures we've taken.

Zoo day!

It was a beautiful day here in Southern Wisconsin, bright sunny sky and temps in the low 80's.  I don't think you could pick a better day for the zoo.  We decided bright and early to take the girls.  One of the nice things about Madison is that our zoo is free.  It's not huge but it does have most of the main animals (giraffes, lions, bears, gorillas, monkeys, penguins, etc).  The unfortunate thing is that because it's free and today was such a beautiful day...it was pretty packed.  The girls still had a nice time and it was fun to see Lydia interested in the animals.  Felicity's favorite animal was the alligator (I think someone watches a bit too much Peter Pan) and Lydia really thought the giraffes were cool (and she can say giraffe pretty well too)!

After the zoo we stopped to visit Uncle Josh at work (and scored some free suckers too...the girls love suckers) and saw Bopa Crowe (grandpa) as well.  Then we took a quick trip to one of the best farm markets in Madison, Brennan's.  It's kind of expensive but they have all kinds of cool things to taste.

Needless to say, the girls zonked out on the way home.  What a great way to spend a beautiful summer day!

Addicted to the pool!

One of the best things about summer is swimming...and boy does Lydia love the pool.  She has proven that she is fearless when it comes to just about anything...including water and the new water slide hookup we now have (thanks Mary and Larry)!  Felicity is a bit more reserved and likes to instead walk around the pool, hesitating to get wet while telling Lydia what to do.  It's really funny to watch...maybe I've got a lifeguard on my hands!
