It was a beautiful day here in Southern Wisconsin, bright sunny sky and temps in the low 80's. I don't think you could pick a better day for the zoo. We decided bright and early to take the girls. One of the nice things about Madison is that our zoo is free. It's not huge but it does have most of the main animals (giraffes, lions, bears, gorillas, monkeys, penguins, etc). The unfortunate thing is that because it's free and today was such a beautiful day...it was pretty packed. The girls still had a nice time and it was fun to see Lydia interested in the animals. Felicity's favorite animal was the alligator (I think someone watches a bit too much Peter Pan) and Lydia really thought the giraffes were cool (and she can say giraffe pretty well too)!
After the zoo we stopped to visit Uncle Josh at work (and scored some free suckers too...the girls love suckers) and saw Bopa Crowe (grandpa) as well. Then we took a quick trip to one of the best farm markets in Madison, Brennan's. It's kind of expensive but they have all kinds of cool things to taste.
Needless to say, the girls zonked out on the way home. What a great way to spend a beautiful summer day!
